The Himmler-Kersten Agreement On Concentration Camp Prisoners

On March 12, 1945 Himmler, in a darkened room of the SS Sanatorium in Hohenlychen, signed the following agreement in the presence of Kersten & Brandt. Himmler himself added the heading:

Agreement In The Name of Humanity

It was decided:

1. That concentration camps will not be blown up.

2. On the approach of Allied troops, a white flag will be hoisted.

3. No more Jews will be killed, & Jews will be treated like other prisoners.

4. Sweden is allowed to send food parcels to individual Jewish prisoners.
